Privacy Policy

Last updated 1 October 2026

Slicknote is a notes app made in Australia ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use Slicknote on iPhone, iPad, Mac or Android.

The short version

What stays on your device

Everything you write: daily notes, pages, photos, templates, settings and backups. Smart Format, voice notes (speech is turned into text on the device only; where a phone can't, voice notes don't run), imports (PDFs, photos of paper, text recognition), search, reminders, widgets, Spotlight and the Lock Screen all work on your device. If you turn on Lock Slicknote, Face ID or your fingerprint is checked by your device's system. We never receive it. With the lock on, note text is also kept out of Spotlight, notifications, widgets, the Watch and the Lock Screen unless you choose otherwise.

Sharing, in more detail

What we don't do

We don't use analytics, advertising networks or trackers. We don't sell, rent or trade information. We don't use your notes to train AI.

Children

Slicknote is for everyone. It doesn't knowingly collect children's personal information: sharing needs an email address, and nothing else leaves the device.

Your choices and rights

You can see, export (Settings › Backups & Export) or delete everything on your device at any time. You can stop sharing anything, or delete your account, from inside the app. To ask about the information we hold (only what you've shared), email support@slicknote.app. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles.

Where information is kept

Shared notes and pages are kept by our hosting provider, Supabase, on servers in Tokyo, Japan, so shared items are stored outside Australia. They're encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Access is limited by row-level security: only you and the people you've shared with can read a shared item.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above. If a change affects what leaves your device, the app will tell you.
